Essay

The thesis for the scientific degree of candidate of geological sciences on specialty 05.07.12 - remote aerospace research - Scientific Centre for Aerospace Research of the Earth, Institute of Geological Sciences, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2006. The thesis is dedicated to creation and substantiation of the methods of predicting onshore hydrocarbon deposits with the help of materials of aerospace and geochemical research. The purpose of this thesis is to increase reliability of predicting onshore hydrocarbon deposits. This purpose has been achieved by solving the following tasks: regularity of changes of the geochemical environment over hydrocarbon deposits was investigated; the analysis of environmental factors which determine the change of optical reflection characteristics of landscapes over hydrocarbon deposits was made; the model of formation of anomalies in the optical field of landscapes, caused by hydrocarbon deposits, was developed; the set of characteristic indicators of hydrocarbon deposits which include optical and geochemical parameters of soils was established and founded; the general pattern of the methods of predicting onshore hydrocarbon deposits with the help of materials of aerospace and geochemical research was founded; algorithms of detecting optical and geochemical anomalies over hydrocarbon deposits were developed; evaluation of information values of optical and geochemical parameters as indicators of hydrocarbon deposits was made; algorithm of decision-making on predicting of hydrocarbon deposits based on sequential using of optical and geochemical parameters was described; the experimental testing of the proposed methods was done in the areas of oil-and-gas bearing territory of the Dniprovsko-Donetsk depression; the guidelines for using the founded methods were developed. Key words: aerospace research, characteristic indicators of hydrocarbon deposits, optical and geochemical anomalies, processes generated by oil and gas deposits.
