Essay

The object - erythropoiesis, oxygen transport. The purpose - dissertation is devoted to the study of biochemical effects of cadmium (parenteral injection of CdCl2, 10 mg/kg of body weight) on oxygen transport in white rats in the conditions of normal and decreased pO2 and correction of the damage by Na2SeO3 administration (0,1 mg/kg of body weight). The methods - biochemistrycals, cytologicals, statistics. It was established, that after injection of CdCl2 cadmium was accumulated in animal organs in decreasing order: liver > kidney > spleen > heart > lung > skeletal muscle. The changes in animal red blood cell metabolism were found under the influence of cadmium. These changes consisted in inhibition of the enzymes of energy metabo-lism and antioxidant system, decrease in the products of glycolysis concentrations, and activation of the processes of lipid peroxidation. The metabolic effects of cadmium in the conditions of decreased pO2 in atmospheric air were studied. It was established, that the training of animals to the conditions of hypoxia diminished harmful effects of cadmium in the early period of intoxication. The corrective effects of sodium selenite on erythropoiesis and blood oxygen transport function of the rats, intoxicated with cadmium chloride were established. The sphere of using - biochemistry, ecology.
