The morphological changes developing in the components of air-blood barrier on the different stages of forming of chronic bronchitis are in process described. Character of development of convertible and irreversible morphological changes is certain in the components of air-blood barrier. The role of inorganic particles is specified in pathogenesis of this nosology. Immunchistochemical research of surfactant-associated proteins, proving, is conducted, that at a chronic bronchitis takes place damage of the surfactant system of lungs, which allows concluding about the necessity of its correction by replacement surfactant therapy, especially on the early stages of development of chronic bronchitis. Amount of the nonorganic particles in cases of chronic catarrhal and granulating bronchitis resemble to control group. In chronic purulent and fibrous bronchitis accumulation of great amount of nonorganic substances combination with the severe sclerotic and destructive processes take place.
