Essay

The thesis concerns the research of influence of self-consistent grain charging on collective phenomena in plasma. The main attention is paid to the problems of single macroparticle screening and propagation of longitudinal waves in dusty plasma. The new model, namely the model of point-like sink, is proposed for the description grain charging. The analytical expressions for electrostatic potential and plasma particles distribution are calculated in the case of weakly-ionized plasma with regard to ionization of neutrals by external source and also in the case of collisionless plasma. Correctness of the proposed model is confirmed by the agreement of the derived formulas with analytical estimates and numerical solutions of nonlinear problem. Dynamic screening of the grain, which moves with constant velocity in plasma, was studied within the framework of proposed model. It is shown that in the negative friction can occurs. The screening of single grain embedded into semi-bounded plasmas is studied. It isshown that plasma particles absorption by grain leads to considerable deviation of the effective potential from that obtained for the case of nonabsorbing charged macroparticle. The self-consistent linear kinetic theory of dusty plasma was generalized for presents of spherical grains of different sizes. Dielectric response functions for the dusty plasma under consideration are found. We presented a detailed numerical analysis of dispersion equation. It is shown that the presence of dust strongly influences on the dispersion and damping rate of the ion-acoustic waves. The main mechanisms of this influence are discussed.
