Essay

Influence of the impurities on physical phenomena in dielectric crystals are studied with aim of establishing the impurity effects in vibrational spectrum and the origin of high temperature anomalies in Li2B4O7. Research method is the light scattering and infrared reflection spectroscopy. The place of potassium and silver impurities is determined. Mechanism of the lithium sublattice disordering and its metastability are found. The area of practical use is a search of new functional materials.
