Thesis consider with it has been found that dissolved substances of phenol origin are accumulated in shallow water zones of reservoirs occupied by the thickets of higher aquatic plants. Their high concentrations are capable of inhibiting the development of blue-green algae. In this case, the functional activity of plankton algae belonging to other taxonomic groups is unaffected by these substances.
