The thesis is dedicated to researching the current state of dendroflora in the parks of the Poltava region. The history of formation and researching the places of cultivated dendroflora of the region is given. For the first time the list of dendroflora in the parks of the Poltava region has been made. Taxonomic composition, ecologic, biomorphologic properties of species, forms and hybrids are analyzed. As a result of proprietary and literary data it has been stated that the dendroflora of parks in the Poltava region includes 489 species, 127 forms, 30 hybrids and 1 variety that belong to 144 genera, 60 families of 2 sections Pinophyta and Magnoliophytа. The current state and the ways of use of dendroflora in the parks of the Poltava regions have been estimated. The comparative analyses of dendroflora in the parks on different indices have been made. The decorative peculiarities of wood plants have been characterized. The range of wood plants and bushes (91 species and forms) for wide use in forestryof the region has been recommended. The prospective introduction of wood plants has been analyzed. The state of preservation of dendroflora in the parks forming a part of nature-preservation network of the Poltava region has been cleared up. Century-old, rare and the most valuable species of dendroflora in the parks have been studied. The expedient proofs for creating three new preservation sites and for changing the status of two parks have been given. Practical recommendations as for preserving and restoring the parks of the Poltava region have been worked out. The creation of a new dendropark 'Zoryany' based on the territory of the biological station of the Poltava State Pedagogical university named after Korolenko has been suggested.
