Katsulyak Y. Regeneration of Oak Forests in the Рre-Сarpathian Region

The object is current status and typological structure of oak forests of the Рre-Сarpathian Region and their regeneration; the aim - evaluation of oak forest of The Predkarphatie current status and improvement methods of their regeneration; methods - forestry-taxation, forest-plantation, selection, pedologyc, mathematical-statistic; the new approach - for the first time for the Рre-Сarpathian Region conditions the participation of oak in composition of two formations of oak forests stands was determined; at actual level status of oak forest of the region was discribed, the gene resources were evaluated, the features were studied and ways of optimization of regeneration processes on cutting areas and under canopy were proposed; the main include - the current status of oak forests of Рre-Сarpathian Region was analyzed and ways of expansion of oak stands areas were indicated; the data concerning natural regeneration of oak under forest canopy and on cutting areas according to forest types and stands structure were verified; the status of gene reserves, plus stands, plus trees, of English and rocky oaks in region was determined; the under-canopy cultures in the disorganized young plantation and establishing of particulate oak plantations on cutting areas with natural regeneration of associated species were tested; the cultivation of introduced and native fast-growing species for increase of oak forests productivity in the Рre-Сarpathian Region is proposed; the field is forestry.
