Essay

The goal of the presented thesis is the development of self-reinforced in-situ composite materials based on transition and rare-earth metal borides of the type MeB6 - Me'B2, and optimization of processing parameters. The structure mechanical and emission properties of composites have been investigated. The LaB6 - ZrB2 composite material was successfully tested as a material for compensator cathodes of a plasma engine for orbit correction ("Fakel", Russia).
