Essay

The dissertation is the first comprehensive historical research of the main tendencies of the development and peculiarities of realization of cooperation between Ukraine and Great Britain (political as well as military spheres) in 1991-2004 in the context of contemporary Eurointegration processes and forming of a modern security system in Europe. There have been considered historical prerequisites of the making of intergovernmental relations. There has been offered and substantiated a clear and detailed division of intergovernmental political interrelations between 1991-2004. The dissertation gives the first analysis ever of the Ukrainian-British relations during the Presidential elections in Ukraine in 2004. It has been ascertained that the beginning of the 21st century sees intensive, complex and structural development of military cooperation between Ukraine and Great Britain in the context of relations between Ukraine and NATO.
