Essay

The subject of the research is the processes and methods of receiving and processing information in the air-based remote Earth-sensing IR systems. The aim of this dissertation is the scientific substantiation of the use of passive test-objects under the conditions of the flight tests of the remote Earth-sensing IR systems for the purpose of the determination of the resolution ratio and the scientific substantiation of the performance requirements for the IR sensing ground. The method of evaluation of the highest IR contrast of passive IR test-object was first worked out. The method of determination of the resolution ratio of the remote Earth-sensing IR systems under the conditions of the passive test-object flight tests and the method of calculation of the atmospheric transmission coefficient in the 8-14µm IR range received their further development. The obtained results can be practically applied in state tests in order to bring IR equipment into service, IR system tests in order to check technical condition, and also to check the IR equipment of foreign surveillance aircraft performing demonstration flights over the Ukrainian territory as well as to prepare the AN 74 TK - 300 aircraft for certification within the framework of the Open Sky Agreement.
