Essay

Object of research - systems of electromagnetic metering of liquid metals with crossed electrical and magnetic fields. The purpose - development of theory of electromagnetic processes in the metering systems that realize batch-type metering of liquid metal, and creation of new devices and installations having high capacity and precision of metering. Methods - mathematical and physical modeling. Theoretical results and novelty - developed new mathematical models of electromagnetic processes in the systems with crossed electrical and magnetic fields at longitudinal current in the channel, and established new qualitative and quantitative relations between electromagnetic and hydrodynamic characteristics at batch-type metering of liquid metals. Practical results - computer techniques for calculation of electromagnetic parameters of metering device and determination of their power characteristics. A subject and introduction degree - electromagnetic metering devices for lead and aluminum alloys are applied in industrial production at some industrial works in Ukraine and in independent states of the former USSR. Efficiency of introduction - raising the productivity and precision of metering when producing small portions of liquid metal. Use sphere - design and operation of electrotechnological equipment for processing of molten metals.
