Essay

Objects of research are polarization signatures of hydrome-teors. The purpose of work is increase of true identification of dangerous meteorological objects at the expense of develop-ment of effective classification methods over polarimetric data. Design-theoretical methods and methods of statistical modeling are used in the work. Practical value of results con-sists in that they allow to decrease scope of natural experi-ments at the stage of perspective information radar systems' designing and provide possibility to realization on modern signal processing processors of algorithm of dangerous hy-drometeors recognition in a real time. The scientific novelty is as follows: 1) the set of informative multidimensional polari-zation signatures for hydrometeors' classification is suggested for the first time; 2) the physico-statistical models of hydro-meteors are improved on grounds of experimental data; 3) the decision-making methods have received the further develop-ment - the two-stage classification procedure with information accumulation and classes truncation over combinations of multidimensional signatures has been synthesized. Results of scientific work are implemented at: Institute of radiophysics and electronics engineering named after А.Ya. Usikov and National aerospace university named after N.Ye. Zhukovski "KhAI". Results of work can be used for solving problems of multidimensional nonparametric recognition in conditions of insufficient self-descriptiveness of the signatures' space
