The thesis is the first comprehensive overview of Olena Pchilka's literary heritage and research of folklore. On the basis of in-depth analysis of writer's numerous works the paper emphasizes her contribution into the development of certain folklore genres (Nativity Plays, folk epos, Ukrainian humour, "fabulous legends", ritual poetry). The question of integral connection between Olena Pchilka's literary works and folklore is studied in the context of different approaches to such phenomenon as "folklorism".
