Dissertation thesis is the first complete research of calendar-ceremonial folklore of Western Polissya in the Ukrainian folklore study. Basic attention is concentrated upon determination and description of peculiar, essentially western-polissyan features of spring-and-summer and winter songs of the region. Elucidated are the conditions of preserving and features of existence of the calendar-ceremonial folklore on the territory of Western Polissya in the modern conditions, outlined are the genres typical of either disappearance or adoption tendency.
