Essay

The paper considers the peculiarities of phytoplankton development in megapolis water-bodies of different types. Independently of water-bodies origin phytoplankton structural characteristics have been found to reduce with the anthropogenic influence increasing. The direct reliable correlation has been observed between the biomass and chlorophyll a concentration, with natural processes in the water ecosystem dominating, while there is no such correlation in the water-bodies under more considerable anthropogenic impact.
