Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to Bulgarian foreign policy in the 1985 - 1991. Research is lead according to the analysis of wide range of sources from the Central Archive of Republic Bulgaria, Diplomatic Archive of Foreign Ministry of Republic Bulgaria and also published sources and literature. The evolution of foreign policy of Bulgaria is complex explored in 1985 - 1991, its is selected basic phases: 1985 - 1987, 1988 - 1989 and 1990 - 1991. Development of relations of country is lighted up in political, economic and scientific spheres with the leading states of the world: USSR, USA, Germany, France, Great Britain and other. It is drawn a conclusion, that during the given period the Bulgarian foreign policy has entered in a phase of transition from socialist system to the western zone of influence. The included of Bulgaria in the western affected zone is related to the action of economic, political and international factors which urged on a country to integration in EU and NATO. Traced on the evolution of foreign policy of Bulgaria on Balkan, intergovernmental contradictions, which influenced on the foreign-policy course of country, cooperation of the Balkan states.
