Essay

The thesis deals with the results of the complex critical-taxonomic study of the genus Linum L. in the flora of Ukraine. The peculiarities of the morphology (including pollen morphology and leaf surface structure) were studied. The new version of the system of the genus Linum (taxa occurring in Ukraine) was proposed, and it includes 23 species belonging to 8 sections. Within it a subsection and 4 series were described, a new section, a form and 2 hybrids have been first noted for Ukraine.
