Gritsenko V. The meadow steppes of the Kyiv plateau: flora, vegetation, population of rare species and protection.

The thesis is dedicated to complex analysis of meadow steppes of the Kyiv plateau. The Kyiv plateau represents raised rising on right beach of river Dnieper in northern part of a Forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. Small islands of the meadow steppes vegetation on declines ravine, gorge, and hills show the meadow steppes here. For today in locale 70 meadow steppes plots the general area about 5 000 hectares are included. The flora of meadow steppes of the Kiev plateau includes 548 species of vascular plants. The systematic composition, biomorphological, ecologo-coenotical, geographic structure of flora is analyzed. The ecologo-coenotical classification of the meadow steppes vegetation of the Kyiv plateau is compounded, which one is submitted by 8 formations and 65 associations. The state and structure of populations 7 species brought in the Red data book of Ukraine is analyzed. The list of rare species (88 species) is compounded and their modern geographic distribution in locale is analyzed. The scientificsubstantiations and recommendation for creation of new objects of the natural reserve fund are elaborated. The efficiency of protection of the floristic diversity and populations of the rare species of plants of meadow steppes on the Kyiv plateau ex situ is substantiated.
