Subject: copepods of the family Eucalanidae. Aim: study of spatial and temporal distributions of calalnoid copepods of the family Eucalanidae in the Arabian Sea. Species structure of the Arabian Sea eucalanids taxocenosis was described. New copepod species Pareucalanus smithae Prusova, 2007 was described. Contribution of eucalanids to the total copepod abundance and biomass in the Arabian Sea was estimated. Patterns of horizontal distribution of the investigated species were studied. Character of spatial and seasonal changes in abundance and biomass of eucalanids in the layer 0-200 m in connection with hydrological regime was analyzed. Bathymetric distribution of the Arabian Sea eucalanids within the layer 0-1300 m was described. Patterns of vertical distribution of eucalanid species and dissolved oxygen concentrations within the layer 0-300 m were investigated. Daily vertical migration activity of eucalanids was analyzed. Character of spatial and temporal variability of age structure of eucalanid populations was studied.
