Essay

The thesis represents the results of investigation the influence of solvents on reactivity of aliphatic peroxide acids. The effective rate constants of oxidation reactions of N,N-dimethylaniline, pyridine, dimethylsulfoxide, picolinic acid, nicotine acid by peroxide acids are determined experimentally. Dependences of correlations between the rate constants of reactions of oxidation organic compounds and basic parameters of solvents are expected. It is shown that is possible to predict the effect of reaction media on the oxidation using correlation dependencies. Heats of formation of basic substances and products of reaction were optimized by quantum-mechanical calculation. The mechanism of oxidation reaction of aromatic compounds by peroxide acids in agreement with quantum-mechanical calculations is proposed. Possibility of quantitative determination of sulfoxides, morpholine, piperidine and piperazine in different organic and water-organic environments is proven. The reactions of co-polymer styrene-maleic anhydride with peroxidecanoic acid have been studied. Such processes led to peroxide-containing polymers which can be applied as polyinitiators.
