Paliy J. The Historical trends of progress and the process of democratization in Chile and Guatemala in 80-90th.

Dissertation is devoted to the research of the process democratization in the countries of Latin America, political processes and structures of region from point of dynamics and balance of authoritarian and democratic forms authorities, which took a place since the second half of XX age. It is set that the old concept of "terms of democratization" require either serious transformation or in general waiver of former empiric generalizations; the liberal model of democracy at its practical application to the countries of region is not acceptable (the index of level of economic development as an explaining variable does not work both for regions on the whole and for concrete country); political democracy depends not only on composition of political institutes.
