Essay

Object: The human erythrocytes under conditions of oxidative stress. Aim: to investigate haemoglobin structure and metabolic properties of the erythrocytes under conditions of intensive oxidative reactions with the share of oxygen active forms. Methods: electrophoretic, spectrophotometrical, spectrofluorimetrical, methods of preparative biochemistry and statistic analysis. It has been shown the marked alterations in the structural state of haemoglobin, in the formation of different forms of haemoglobin, in the processes of utilization of glucose and in the activity of some enzymes involved in redox potential formation in human erythrocytes as well as Na+ and K+ transporting via its plasmatic membranes under initiation of oxidative reactions with oxygen active forms in vitro in Fenton's system and under pathologies with oxidative stress (cirrhosis of liver and gall-stone disease). Field of application: educational institutes of biological and medical profile, applications in clinical practice.
