The thesis is devoted to complex research on the problem of the participation of the Chinese in the revolutionary events of 1917–1921 in the territory of Ukraine and their role in those events. On the basis of the wide range of archival sources, published materials of the period of the Civil War in the territory of the former Russian Empire (collections of documents, memoirs, reminiscences, research of historians, publications in the periodicals of that time), the peculiarities of the historical processes that took place in the territory of Ukraine in 1917–1921 are revealed. A detailed analysis of the historical research of the Soviet, Ukrainian, Chinese and Russian historians performed characterizes the degree of the topic coverage. The qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the participation of the Chinese in armed formations, both in advance front lines positions, and in the conquest and forti?cation of the Soviet rule at the rear of the Red Army, are de?ned. Separately, the peculiarities of the demobilization of the Chinese soldiers of the Red Army and their potential in the ?rst post-war years are analysed. In the thesis, the conclusion is drawn, that the participation of the Chinese in separate and mixed international formations of the Red Army had a substantial in?uence on the course of separate events of the Civil War and considerably in?uenced the general result of the revolutionary events of 1917–1921 in the territory of Ukraine.
