Object of the research: structural bases of functional disorders of liver at induced anomalies of the immune response. Purpose of research: to verify pathogenetically significant structural changes in liver of the HIV-infected persons depending on the fact of use of narcotic substances for argumentation of separate positions of diagnostic and medical tactics. Methods of research: histological, histochemical, immunohistochemical and statistical. Theoretical and practical results: Results of the scientific research give arguments for optimization of diagnostic and medical tactics at HIV/AIDS. In particular, components of diagnostic algorithm of liver affection at the HIV-infected persons, acceptable for daily activity of the practicing pathologist were developed. Novelty of the obtained findings: The work is the first domestic research of structural bases of the hepatic dysfunction at the HIV-infected persons. Data concerning presence and character of the liver affection at HIV/AIDS on volumetric statistical sample were submitted, that is significant in a view of this medical-social problem. For the first time structural changes in liver at such infection are evaluated from positions of the basic cellular types of body and in connection with their primary (HIV) and secondary (as a result of change of microenvironment and connection of other aggressive factors) damage. Pathomorphological features in liver at the HIV-infected persons, who inter vivos used narcotic substances were documented. For the first time in the world practice of medical and biologic researches structural infringements in liver at HIV-infection were analyzed in a view of different development mechanisms of anomalies of the immune response (HIV-infection and so-called “Chernobyl AIDS”. Degree of introduction: The findings of the research were introduced to the work of the Institute of Human Ecological Pathology (Kiev), in everyday activity of pathology departments in Odessa city clinical hospital № 1, Odessa regional pathology bureau, as well as teaching process of department of general and clinical pathology of faculty of fundamental medicine of Kharkov National University named after V. Karazin, pathology department of Kharkov National Medical University, pathology department of Odessa State Medical University. Area of application: pathological anatomy, therapy, infections diseases.
