Essay

The dissertation deals with the problem how subjective interpretation of conflict situations can contribute to the dynamics of conflicts, and how individual's awareness of the conflict interpretation process can be helpful for its effective solution. The author shows that interpretation of conflict situations is being deployed on the basis of constant interpretational schemata; specificity of usage thereof can be both a reason for an interpersonal conflict and the factor facilitating its effective solution. Selected schemata underlie the constructed situation's cognitive correlate, i.e. situation pattern. The evidence was found that analysis of conflict situations experience through acquisition of theoretical knowledge, as well as individual's awareness of his/her attitude towards the process of interpretation and its peculiarities, form a prerequisite for constructive conflict resolution. From the psychological perspective, this process involves mainly cognitive and semantic schemata. Developed was amethod of psycho-diagnostics of individual's aptitude to resolve conflicts effectively that is achieved by analyzing narrative description of conflict situations. A system of techniques was created and approved, which give direction to individual's awareness of the process of conflict situations interpretation, thus resulting in more effective resolving of conflict situations.
