This thesis is dedicated to the study of biological peculiarities and use of plants of the family Cactaceae Juss. introduced in greenhouses. The taxonomic composition of the collection has been analyzed. The peculiarities of growth, development and duration of phenological phases have been studied. The vitality of seeds of plants has been determined and, first, the optimum conditions of their conservation have been established. The initial stages of plant ontogeny of the family Cactaceae have been studied. The structure-functional dependence between the cotyledons and hypocotyls has been noted. The perspectives of use of these plants in decorative floriculture and educational activity have been considered.
