Essay

The object of the investigation is both: biochemical mechanisms of metabolism regulation in rat organism under condition of introducing cesium and strontium salts, as well as the influence of the changes in the parameters of acid-alkaline state on the intensity in accumulating those heavy metals. The aim of the dissertation paper is to investigate metabolism processes in rat tissues and organs when intoxicated by cesium and strontium, as well as the influence of the changes in the parameters of the acid-alkaline state of the organism on the intensity of their accumulation. The methods of the investigation comprise the following: fermentative (glycolysis and citric acid cycle), spectrophotometric (indices of mineral, nitrogen, carbohydrate metabolism, enzyme activity, potentiometric indices of acid-alkaline state) and statistical. The results of the investigation clear up the modern conception on the mechanism of negative strontium and cesium action on the intracellular metabolism. The lows of Redistribution and accumulation of those heavy metals in internal organs of animals, as well as the character in the changes of the indices of mineral, carbohydrate and nitrogen metabolism, parameters of acid-alkaline state in rat organism have been found. It has been shown that the experimental changes in the parameters of blood acid-alkaline state in the favor of metabolic acidosis, promote accelerating redistribution, as well as decreasing in cesium and strontium accumulation in the experimental rat organisms. The scientific novelty of the results obtained of the paper is confirmed by the four patents for useful models. The results of the investigation are introduced in the educational processes of the Dnipropetrovsk State Agrarian University, Bilotserkivskii State Agrarian University, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. They are also applied in the scientific work of L.I. Medved' Institute of Eco-hygiene and Toxicology, of Institute of Experimental and Clinic Veterinary Medicine, of Institute of Labour Medicine, of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. The results obtained may be a fundamental ground for developing new efficient ways in prophylaxes and treatment of the productive animals in case of intoxication by cesium and strontium salts.
