Essay

The object is genetic variability in tissue culture of tropical plant R.serpentina; the aim is study of genetic stability of R.serpentina strains; the methods are tissue culture, molecular-genetic; the novelty lies in establishment of the fact that long-term culturing of R.serpentina strains in the stable conditions does not induce the genome rearrangements, while the changes of culture conditions might cause genome alterations; switch from the surface maintenance to submerged culture appears to influence more noticeably on the genome of cultured tissues as compared with the changes in solid medium composition.
