The thesis is the comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of mythological folklorism in Ukrainian literature. Main tendencies of development of folklorism in literature of the beginning of the 20th century are determined on the base of analysis of mythological figures, folklore plots and motives in structure of the literary works of Ol'ha Kobylyans'ka, Mykhaylo Kotsyubyns'kyy, Lesya Ukrainka and others. Folklore spheres and phenomena that reveal the most ability to actualization and formal and sensual transformations in literature are defined too. Methods of transformation of folklore element in literary works of different writers are studied.
