Essay

The thesis contains the results of studying of physico-chemical properties of solution-melts with general composition of Y2O3-Fe2O3-(PbO-B2O3-BaO-BaF2). The ranges of density, surface tension and viscosity of garnet solutions - melts that is acceptable for process of garnet crystallization was established. The temperatures of phase transition are measured and quasibinary phase diagram of the solutions of yttrium oxide, iron oxide (III) and iron-yttrium garnet in melt solution were built. The products of solution-melt crystallization in these systems were identified. The high-purity bulk single crystals of ferrite-garnets and hexaferrites were grown.
