Object of research - the phenomenon of the biotopic placing of black grouse and capercaillie under the conditions of Central Polissya. Aim of research - to determine the effects of ecological and forest factors on the biotopic placing of blacr grouse and capercaillie and to develop forest measures aimed at optimizing their living conditions. Methods of research - general scientific, forest and taxation, field zoological, ecological, mathematical and statistical. Scientific novelty of the results obtained - it is for the first time that: an integrated assessment of the stations of black grouse and capercaillie for Central Polssya is made; the tichniques of stational investigation of grouse birds are improved, which, in its turn, made it possible to give an ecological and forest description of places the birds meet, but of the adjacent areas; the regularities of the effects of varions ecological and forest factors on the biotopic placing of birds; it is for the first time for the region that the analysisof spatial and temporal dynamics of grouse birds is made and the factors and indicators of their seasonal biotopic placing are revealed. Research results - the recommendations aimed at optimizing living conditions of black grouse and capercaillie are developed. Degree of introduction - the results of the research can be used for keeping the state cadastre of animals of Ukraine and for making species survays for the next Red book of Ukrain in turn.
