Essay

Investigation objects: diflavonol derivatives. Purpose: relationship determination between spectral properties, prototytic features mechanisms and electronic structure of diflavonols in the groud and excited states, and laws revelation of investigated compounds complexation with Ва2+ and Mg2+ ions. Methods: spectrophotometry, steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy, quantum-chemical calculations. Acid-base and spetral properties of diflavonols' protolytic forms in the groud and excited states, complexation of diflavonols has been studied. Quantitative characteristics of protolytic equilibria was obtained and mechanisms of protolytic forms and complexes formation was suggested. Degree of application: the data obtained could be used as fluorescent acidity indicators. The ability of some diflavonol derivatives to form fluorescent complex with water could be used for its determination in alcohols. Data concerning diflavonol complexation could be used for design of new ionophores for metalions detection in non-aqueous media.
