Essay

The thesis is devoted to the concretization and development of the scientific approach to normalize the bud and shoot loads and the length of pruning with the aim of achieving the optimum correlation between the growth and fruit-bearing capacity, the yield and quality of the Black Muscat grape variety using the progressive techniques of grape growing in the South Coast of the Crimea. It has been established that the vine load compared to the length of pruning has the more pronounced effect on the development of a total number of shoots including productive ones and on the vine mass, of the divisible load coefficient. When the vine load is constant the increase in the length of shoots (from 3 to 10 buds) results in the decrease. The length of pruning as compared to the bud load of a vine has a greater effect on the fruit-bearing capacity of this variety. In all tested variants of vine loads and with of pruning for 6 and 10 buds, the fruit-bearing capacity was estimated as very high (K1=1,28-1,50) irrespective of a vine load. Variants with 3 bud pruning were an exception (K1=0,75-1,15). Optimal correlations between the vine yield (4,33-4,65 kg) and quality (28,9-29,0 g/100cm3) with H=1,34-1,35 were experimentally determined and corresponded to the vine load of 36 buds and intermediate and long pruning.
