Object of research: automated control processes of large-scale hydropower systems with the cascades of reservoirs. Goal: quality and safety of hydropower systems functioning improvement due to the improvement of the cascades of reservoirs automated control methods. Methods: dynamic systems modeling, discrete optimal and selective invariant control, computer simulation. Results: Design method of multivariable discrete automated control systems for the cascades of reservoirs with application for reliability and safety improvement of the hydropower systems functioning. Method of processes modeling is in the hydropower systems, method of identification of working characteristics of hydropower units, design of multivariable selective invariant discrete water level controllers for the cascade of reservoirs. Practical application: Join-stock Company "Ukrgidroproekt" (Kharkiv). Field of utilization: hydropower systems.
