Essay

The crystal structure, electronic and vibrational spectra of the condensed C60 films, alloyed by Cu, Ag and Ti atoms. The spectra of optical conductivity and Raman scattering for the C60 fullerene films, doped by the copper and titanium atoms, having the different tendency toward the formation of carbide phases are investigated. Obtained spectral data testify about the hybridization of metallic d- and molecular p-orbitals, which leads to the different structural manifestations of polymerization in the dependence on the impurity type. The doping of C60 fullerites with the metal atoms leads to the reconstruction of the spectra of optical conductivity and Raman scattering. However, both types of spectra essentially differ for Cu and Ti and depend on their content. The indicated changes are caused by the new mechanisms of intermolecular interaction in fullerites, connected with the hybridization of metallic d- and molecular p-orbitals, although the different structural changes, connected with the polymerization of molecules, are its result too.
