Essay

The work is devoted to the complex researches of biologic and ecologic properties of 45 Eastern-Asiatic species of genus Rhododendron L. ex situ of Kyiv. The author researched the peculiarities of phenology; determined the levels of rhododendron's winter, drought and hot firmness; established firmness levels to unfavorable conditions and ecologic amplitude and also the limits of their adaptation possibilities. Studying morphological properties of plants the author determined their life forms' types and fixed the stages of ontogenesis development. The author also found out structural inconstancy and the level of rhododendron's root spreading with other consorts; analyzed the peculiarities of vegetative sphere's formation in the period of growing of rhododendron's seedlings in different substrates in dependence of contents of elements of substrate nourishment. The author worked out the main principles and the methodic of rhododendron's estimation by complex of decorative signs; first time used method ofmany criterions for estimation of introduction perspectiveness and their adaptation in the conditions of Kyiv. The oily types of collection of Rhododendron L. are determined and some antibiotic properties of them oils are studied. Practical recommendations for using the Eastern-Asiatic rhododendrons at the objects of landscape construction are elaborated. The approaches to forming of different ecological and genetic types of cultural and semicultural fito cenosis with participation of rhododendrons are recommended.
