Essay

The correlation of English policy and activity of the UN in Cyprus from 1954 to 1974 has been investigated. There are detached the main stages of the Cyprus question during the appointed period and thrown light upon the evolution of the foreign influence on intercommunity and political processes on the island. There are dedicated cooperation of Britain Government with Cyprus communities during the anticolonial struggle on the island, independent Republic and shared state. The peacekeeping, humanitarian and political aspects of the UN's activity in Cyprus have been examined. It is shown the role of Great Britain in the UN's peacekeeping operation. The transformation of English interests and widening of UN's influence on Cyprus Question have been compared. Greek-Turkish relations have been analyzed in the context of the British policy in the Eastern Mediterranean and UN's activity in Cyprus.
