Essay

The analytical approximation for frequencies, intensities, attenuation, and formation conditions of local vibrations in crystals with simply connected band of quasi-continuous spectrum is constructed. The approximation is shown to possess high accuracy. Within the approximation the analytical expressions for characteristics for local vibrations of various complicated defects are obtained. The transformation of a discrete vibrational level into an impurity zone, that takes place with growth of impurity concentration, is investigated.
