Faly L. Biology-ecological features of the road beetles Philonthus (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) in forest biogeocoenoses of the steppe Prydniprov'ya.

The object is population of the road beetles Philonthus. The aim is to describe the biological-ecologycal features of the road beetles Philonthus in forest biogeocoenoses of the steppe Prydniprov'ya. Tre methods are soil-zoological, geobotany and complex ecological analysiss: coproscopical, microbialogic researches, laboratory contents of insecta, morphometrical, statistical analysis. Biological and ecological features of the road beetles Philonthus genus are studied under conditions of natural and artificial forest biogeocoenoses of the steppe Dnieper region (Prydniprov'ya). The biotopical distribution of dominant species of the Staphylinidae family, particularly Philonthus genus is described. It is found, that in the transformed forests the number and species diversity of the road beetles considerably decrease.
