Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the complex research of the British policy towards the Falkland (Malvinas) islands. The evolution and peculiarities of the policy, internal and external factors, which influenced upon the process of its forming are examined. The special attention was given to the ideological basis of the British expansion in the South Atlantic. The struggle in the British parliament above the "Falkland question" was analyzed and position of the basic political powers was thrown upon light. The researcher proved that "Falkland" policy of Great Britain was conditioned by the strategic motives and was submitted to the one aim - to preserve the status - quo in the South Atlantic.
