Hitko A. Graphite modification of cast-iron forming rolls in a casting-form

Dissertation is devoted to solering of scientific-applied problem concerning the improvement of rolls’ quality by means of modifying axle zone of casting of a roll, that provides the improvement of their physical, mechanical and operational properties. Obtained data scientifically grounded and confirmed by the experiment. Combination of these results allowed to elaborate highly effective technology of inside of form treatment of cast iron rolls with the help of graphite modifier of optimum composition for rolls with lamellar and spheroidical graphite. Their mechanical and operating properties exceed the same properties of rolls made in accordance with serial produc-tion technologies.The application of mathematical model of solidifying of cast iron roll with the help of adding fusing modifier is propesed and grounded experimentally. The model shows the state of elements of the given system after filling of foundry loam mauld and after modifying. Besides the state of the system and the heat processes taking place in it are shown.
