The dissertation is devoted to the investigation of species, sex, age and seasonal characteristics of antioxidant enzyme system and level of oxidative proteins in blood of some Black Sea fish species, and the influence of steady contamination of the sea waters on these parameters with the aim to use them as biomarkers to characterize hydrobionts and their environment. Dependence between the level of toxic elements in fish tissues and antioxidant enzyme activity has been determined.
