Essay

Object of research - national movement of the Poles in the Russian empire as process, directed on achievement of political self-determination of Poland, its basic directions, methods, forms, ideological bases, structure and practical activity of its participants and results. The purpose of research – on the basis of the investigated existing scientific researches, documentary publications, memoirs literature, press and archival materials to define the basic features of the Polish national movement and results, achieved by it in the beginning of ХХ century. Methods: induction and deduction, polifactors, logical, comparative, generalizations, problem-chronological, structural-system, typological and classification, historical-retrospective. Scientific novelty: ideology and practical activity of the participants of national movement are analysed in a context of them interaction with state interests of Russia as the states as a whole; the politics of Russia concerning the Poles is considered by the author not as actually antiPolish, and as such, which achieved as a result of self-preservation of empire as the states and subject of the international relations. The practical value of the dissertation consists in an opportunity of use of an actual material and conclusions for the further study of a history of Russia, Ukraine and Poland, and also actually histories of national movements.
