Essay

Object of research is mechanism of participation of intermediate filament's protein of astrocytes and of neuronal adhesive molecule in experimental diabetes. The aim of research is to study neuronal protective effect of melatonin on the condition of neuronal adhesive molecule and on intermediate filament's protein of astrocytes of rat brain via streptozotocin-induced diabetes.Materials and methods of research photocolorimetric determination of protein and thiobarbiturate-active compounds, electrophoresis, ion-exchange and adsorption chromatography; immunological methods: monospecific antiserum, various types of immunoelectrophoresis, immunoblot, immunohistochemical method; assessment of emotional- behavioral status of rats, test of Morris; method of mathematical statistics, correlation analysis. Theoretical and practical results, novelty. It was firstly determined that experimental diabetes impact the structure and the content of glial fibrillar protein and neuronal adhesive molecule; augmentation of protein content of intermediate filament's protein of astrocytes is characterized by sensitivity of filament form of ГФКБ and by the appearance of degraded fragments of polypeptides; hyperglycemia provoke decrease of neuronal adhesive molecule's expression and changing of content's proportion of isoforms NCAM180/140; introduction of the melatonin prevent degradation of protein IF and of expression of isoforms NCAM180. Area of introduction: biochemistry, neurochemistry, physiology of HNA, teaching of biochemistry and physiology in high schools.
