Teleguz A. Role Independent self-governing trade union "Solidarity" in creation of the newest Polish state (1980-1991).

The Thesis studies the process of formation, the structure, main directions and forms of the struggle of "Solidarity" Polish Independent Self-governing Trade Union against the communist regime in 1980-1991. On the basis of a wide scope of archive documents and materials which have been recently made available for open scientific circulation for the first time, the prerequisites and the reasons of emersion of the civil protest movement are discussed, along with practical goals and specific forms and methods of struggle against government in the context of exacerbation of socio-political and economic crisis of 1980-1981. An analysis was carried out in order to determine the reasons of imposing martial law on December 13, 1981, and specific details of the organization and activities of clandestine "Solidarity" groups in December 1981 - July 1983 are revealed
