Essay

Object: dysplastic valgus deformity of the knee joint. Aim: to define the characteristics of dysplastic valgus deformity of the knee joint and develop its diagnostics and tactic of surgical treatment. Methods: clinical (complex clinical examination), anthropometric, roentgenometric, biomechanics research, mathematical modeling, analysis of estima-tion of the state of patients and efficiency of surgical treatment, statistical methods. For the first time the total charac-teristic (clinical, roengenological, biomechanics) of the dysplastic valgus deformity of the knee joint was given. It was shown the dysplastic valgus deformity of the knee joint has the structural characteristics and requires peculiar diagnos-tic receptions and surgical tactic. Conception of diseases with the inherited inclination got subsequent development, first valgus deformity of the knee joint was identified as a link in the conceptual model of diseases with the inherited inclination. Anthropometric and roengenometric characteristics of the patients with varus and valgus deformities were determined. For reasons given possibility of prognostication of arthritis changes and size of deformity of a knee joint was proved. New knowledge about distributing of internal tensions in a knee joint during valgus deformity was re-ceived, both at static, and at the dynamic loading. A new tactic of the surgical treatment and rehabilitation of patients with displastic valgus deformity of the knee joint was developed, that allows to improve the state of patients and is the complex of treatment and prophylactic actions for prevention of development and progressing of knee joint os-teoarthritis. The developed surgical treatment of displastic valgus deformity of the knee joint was applied in the practi-cal health protection. The received new knowledge is used during an educational process. The programs of postopera-tive rehabilitation of patients after surgical correction of valgus deformity were developed. Research results are used in clinical practice Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology, Ukrainian Academy of Medical Sciences, City clinical hospital №2, Kharkov. Travmatology and orthopaedy
