Pirumov A. Arc welding quality monitoring based on electric characteristics of arc

The thesis for a scientific degree of Candidate of Sciences on specialty 05.03.06 - welding and related processes and technologies. - National technical university of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", Kyiv, 2009. The thesis includes development of the procedure of arc welding quality monitoring based on electric characteristics of the electric arc. To define the effect of perturbing factors artificial neural networks were used. It was determined that only weld formation defects may be predicted basing on the electric characteristics of the electric arc. Parameters of MAG and wet underwater arc welding processes that may be used as informative ones for quality monitoring were determined. The algorithm of data origination and standardization for neural networks was developed. The teaching of neural networks was carried out. The algorithm of arc welding quality monitoring based on electric characteristics of the electric arc was developed. The measuring system for statistical analysis of electric parameters of the arc welding processes was developed.
