Essay

Results of long-term studies on introduction of Amaranthus L. species, their morphological, ontogenetic, biocoenotic and biochemical peculiarities are presented in the dissertation. It is established, that amaranths (A. paniculatus, A. caudatus, A. hypochondriacus, A. mantegazzianus) has a compound inflorescence with monopodial and sympodial branching, corresponding to the definition of "thyrs". It is a revealed metatopia in the form of concaulescentia at A. paniculatus and A. hybridus. Peculiarities of morphology of cymose inflorescences, parts of a flower, bracts, seeds and leaves are considered. Features of ontogenesis of species, forms and varieties in cultivation, their dependence on abiotic factors of environment are determined. Differences of biological properties of light and dark seeds are established. Existence of entomophily in species of the genus Amaranthus under cultivation of culture is proved. Dynamics of accumulation of the basic nutrients during an ontogenesis is revealed and the productive potential of varieties of different types of maturation and use is established.
