The process of liquid-phase oxidation of olefins (1-octene and cyclooctene) by molecular oxygen in the presence of molybdenum containing compounds: MoS2, MoB2, МоО3 and d-metals diborides МеВ2: hafnium, zirconium, chromium, titanium, tantalum, niobium and vanadium was investigated. On the base of the experiment results the mechanism of octene-1 and cyclooctene oxidation by molecular oxygen in the presence of heterogeneous catalysts was proposed. The mechanism supposes formation of double and triple intermediate complexes of catalyst with reagents. Kinetic equation for oxidation rate which describes the process adequately was derived. Kinetic parameters of the oxidation reaction were calculated.
